Thesis resume

The impact of supply chain management on sector performance: The case of the food and tourism sectors in Thainland This PhD study focuses on how supply chain management affects performance in the food and tourism sectors for long-term economic growth in Thailand. The purpose of this thesis is to better understand the possible advantages that the food and tourism sectors may experience because of their supply chains and engagement with sector performance. The samples are 2,399 observations from the food and tourism sectors in 2012–2022. This work is divided into two parts. Part 1 examines the relationship between supply chain management and the performance of the food sector. Part 2 examines the relationship between supply chain management and the performance of the tourism sector. This work investigates the circumstances under which sustainable economic development can obtain the most benefits from stakeholders. The paradigmatic positioning, the mode of reasoning used, as well as the prior knowledge of the research subject determine the choice of methods and tools. In this study, the positivist positioning of a hypothetico-deductive approach to research imposes on the researcher an experimental methodology for collecting and processing data. Our findings show that supply chain management impacts performance of the food and tourism sectors. The connections between food and tourism also suggested that these two things may be modified to promote interest in food culture and history. In addition, a great deal of work is required to satisfy Thailand’s economic development goals, create marketable food tourism items and services, and increase the sustainability of the tourism industry’s revenues.
